Reasons for Poets Selecting in Poems Anthology of Tang Dynasty

王安石《唐百家诗选》是宋代第一个专选唐诗的大型诗歌选本,其在诗家的选择上没有选录李白、杜甫、元稹、白居易、刘禹锡、韩愈、柳宗元、李商隐八大家,却将王建选了九十二首,为选本中第一。探究这种取舍背后的原因,既关乎王安石个人对诗家、诗风的好恶品评,也是特定时代诗坛风潮和王安石实用主义诗学观共同作用的结果。

Poems Anthology of Tang Dynasty of Wang An-shi is the first large poetry anthology which exclusively selects Tang poetry in Song Dynasty. It doesn＇t include the poems of Eight Great Poets such as li Bai,Tu Fu,Yuan Zhen,Bai Ju-yi,Liu Yu-xi,Han Yu,Liu Zhong-yuan and Li Shang-yin. Unexpectedly,it selects 92 poems of Wang Jian which ranks first place in this anthology. This paper explores the reasons for this selection. It not only matters likes and dislikes of Wang An-shi towards poets and poetic style but also the poetic trend in specific era as well as Wang An-shi ＇s viewpoint on poetry of pragmatism.
