国外个人数字存档的实践经验及其启示

Practical Experience and Enlightenment of Personal Digital Archiving Abroad

个人数字存档是指对个人实践中产生的且归属于个人的、具有保存价值的原生性和再生性数字文件进行长期保存。存档主体是个人。文章从面向个人的产品和服务、探索个人如何进行数字存档的研究项目、以及图书馆、档案馆等文化机构面向公众的宣传指导三方面分析了国外的实践经验。最后,介绍了国内的实践情况,分析了国内的不足,并结合国外经验指出这些不足产生的根源,即个人动因不足和社会动因不受重视,为此,倡议图书馆、档案馆等机构积极开展面向公众的宣传指导工作。

Personal digital archiving means the long-term preservation of born digital and digitized docu- ments that are created during individual＇s practice, belong to individuals and worth preserving. The subjects who implement the archiving activity are individual themselves. This article analyzed practical experiences abroad from three aspects of products and services developed for individuals, research programs exploring how individuals conduct digital archiving,and propaganda and instruction work of cultural institutions such as libraries and archives towards the public. Finally, the paper introduced domestic practical situations, ana- lyzed their deficiencies, and by reference to international experiences, pointed out the root of these deficien- cies, namely lack of personal motivation and the neglect of social motivation. Thus, it＇ s advocated that insti- tutions like libraries and archives actively carry out publicizing and instructing work towards the public.
