On the Role of the Compradors in Modern Industrialization of the Late Qing Dynasty

近代买办在晚清经济领域表现活跃.买办通过自身活动,客观上推动了中国自然经济的解体,为近代工业化和资本主义的发展开辟了道路;在兴办近代工业过程中,他们创造了多项“中国制造”,实现了“零”的突破,为建立起中国近代门类齐全的工业体系打下了一定基础.近代买办所造就的企业家精神,对“大众创业、万众创新”的今天来说,仍具有一定的启示意义.

Modern compradors performed very actively in economy in the late Qing Dynasty. Compradors through their own activities, objectively promoted the disintegration of natural economy in China, paving the way for the development of modern industrialization and capitalism. In the establishment of the modern industrial process, they achieved a number of “made in China” from “zero” breakthrough, and establish a certain foundation for China modern fully equipped industrial system. Modern compradors had created the entrepreneur spirit, which still has certain enlightenment significance in today＇ background of public entrepreneurship and innovation.
