English movies are essential part of English vocabulary acquisition,and as important part in English movies,English subtitles help incidental vocabulary acquisition.Vocabulary acquisition is carefully fallen into two categories：intentional vocabulary acquisition and incidental vocabulary acquisition.On the basis of two major categories of vocabulary learning,this article focuses on the effect of different types of subtitles in English movies on incidental vocabulary acquisition,and the learning strategy derived from the subtitles in English movies which helps incidental vocabulary acquisition also is explored.
