《金瓶梅》版本有三大系统,分别是:词话本、崇祯本和张评本。其中张评本插图版本最为复杂,有42幅、80幅、100幅和200幅四种情况。其中有42幅插图的正是张评本人物绣像本。此版本和其他插图本有着很大的区别,其绘刻者把有关联的两两人物设置在一个背景里,以此突出强调他们之间的联系。两两人物的编排与绘刻者对文本、对人物的理解和认知也有着密切的关系。并且人物绣像本在人物的选取上看似无章,但还是有一定规律可循的。所选取的人物层次多、范围广,甚至有些人物没有出现在其他插图本插图中。同时,绘刻者在人物序列的安排上,考虑到尊卑长幼这一宗法伦理意识,符合当时大众的认知和接受习惯,这些都使得张评本人物绣像本在《金瓶梅》所有插图版本中独树一帜。

There are three different versions of Golden Lotus, that is, Cihua Edition, Chongzhen Editions and Zhang Editions. Of the three versions, the edition of the Zhang has the most complex illustrations, 42 illustrations, 80 illustrations, 100 illustrations and 200 illustrations. The 42 illustrations are actually the portraitures of Zhang editions. And this is the most difference from the other three versions. Besides, this edition has another distinction, which is the author draws two characters in one illustration, and emphasizes the relationship of the two characters. This arrangement has a great effect on the understanding of the character to readers. The selection of the characters seems no roles. The range of characters is wide, but some characters did not show in the illustrations. What is more, the sequence of the characters follows the order of age, which agreed with acceptance habits. And all these make the Zhang editions with 42 illustrations the most special one of all the versions.
