四平市公示语翻译现状调查与研究

Investigation and Research on Current Status of Public Signs Translation in Siping City

随着我国对外开放程度越来越高,很多城市都设置了双语公示语,英译版公示语就像城市的窗口,在对外交流中发挥着特有的作用。然而公示语在英译的过程中出现了各种各样的错误,严重损害了城市形象。本文以吉林省四平市的公示语翻译为个例研究,首先提出公示语的基本概念和重要意义,然后重点分析四平市公示语翻译中存在的问题,并提出改进意见,以期引起四平市政府相关部门及社会各界人士的广泛关注,提高四平市的对外形象。

With the development of our country＇s reforming and opening degree,many cities have set up bilingual signs,English translation of the public signs,which are like the window of the city,are playing a unique role in the foreign communications. But there emerge a lot of mistakes in the translation of public signs,which seriously damage image of the city. Taking public signs＇ translation in Si Ping city as an example,this paper first puts forward the basic concept of public sign and its significance and then focuses on analyzing the problems in siping ＇s public sign translation and provides some improvement advice,with the purpose of attracting the attention of some relevant government departments in Si Ping city and people from all walks of life to improve the external image.
