Chinese Intellectual Comments on International Current Affairs Before Marco Polo Bridge Incident:a Case Study of New China Magazine——Center on “New China” Magazine

中国是在复杂的国际关系下抵抗日本帝国主义侵略的,因此,以《新中华》学人为代表的中国知识分子密切关注远东及整个国际局势。经过仔细分析,《新中华》学人认为欧美列强的"唯利是图"是导致远东局势紧张的根源。为了解世界局势可能会对中国产生的影响,他们时刻关注着欧洲各国的形势与政策,也急切地想从一些弱小国家中找到美好未来的出路。通过对远东及国际局势的正确判断与吸取其他弱小国家的经验教训,《新中华》学人强调"中国的前途还是要靠中国自己去决定",认为只有依靠自己的艰苦奋斗才能有光明的前途。

China resisted Japanese aggression in a complex international relations,therefore,Chinese intellectuals closed attention to the international situation. After careful analysis, ＂ New Chinese＂ scholars believed that the Western powers of ＂ mercenary＂ is the root cause of tension in the Far East. In addition,in order to understand the impact of the world situation may have generated in China,they always paid attention to the situation and policies of the European countries,but also eager to found a better way to the future from a number of small and weak countries. Through the correct judgment of the international situation and the lessons learned from other weaker countries, ＂ New Chinese＂ scholars stressed that ＂ the future of China is to rely on China to decide for themselves＂,that only rely on their own hard work in order to have a bright future.
