Exploring Research on the Compatibility Between Formalism and Functionalism

形式主义与功能主义是现代语言学研究的两大阵营。由于两大阵营各自为阵,随着语言学研究的发展,两者自身研究缺陷凸显。各自的闭门造车和割据对峙,造成两者长期缺乏合作与交流,从而使得两者之间的探讨成为必要。两种语法在哲学源头、研究目标、语言与人的共生关系、语言习得、语义趋向、言语理解六方面的互补使得两者之间兼容具备了根基。在四大原则(形式和意义、结构和功能、静态和动态、描写和解释)相结合的指导下两种语法在语言的句法、语义、语用三大层面存在兼容性的张力空间,且两者间相互转向的现象彼此相得益彰。

Formalism and fimctionalism are the two main research camps of modem linguistics. As the two camps own research highlights the shortcomings, their work behind closed states, separatism confrontation, causing a chronic lack of cooperation and exchanges between the two, which makes the compatibility becoming necessary between the two; The two types of grammar have the common foundation for the compatibility of the two between the six areas of the source of philosophy, research goals, the symbiotic relationship between language and people, language acquisition, semantic trends, utterance understanding of the two. Under the guidance of combination of the four principles （form and meaning, structure and function, statics and dynamics, description and interpretation） there will be tensional space of the compatibility the three-dimensional language plane of syntax, semantics, pragmatics of the types of grammar, and the mutual shift phenomenon makes them contrast and complement each oth- er for the types of grammar
