妥协是应对社会矛盾的一种常见方式。伴随着现代化进程的推进,妥协方式越来越成为人们解决社会矛盾的主要选项,在社会生活中的影响越来越大,为人们所使用的概率也越来越大;作为解决缓解社会矛盾的一种重要方式,妥协越来越成为一种制度化安排,并通过相应的法律制度得以保障。从历史演进的角度看,妥协方式之所以能够逐渐成为解决社会矛盾的一种制度化安排,是由现代化以及人类文明的进步决定的,具有历史的必然性:现代生产力的发展为妥协奠定了必要的物质基础;社会各个群体之间相互依赖度的日益加强,使得妥协的必要性日益凸显;理性化程度的普遍提高,使得妥协具有广泛的认知基础;现代制度体系的出现,为妥协提供了必要工具和有效保障。妥协尤其是制度化妥协,对于现代社会有着不可或缺的维系和推动作用:妥协有助于减小社会矛盾和社会冲突加剧的可能性,从而有效规避一些社会风险;妥协有助于形成有效的社会活力和社会创造力;妥协有助于现代社会制度的不断创新发展;妥协有助于推动社会的顺利转型。我们应充分用好妥协方式,最大限度地发挥好其解决社会矛盾的积极作用。

Compromise is a common way to cope with social contradictions. Along with the advance of mod- ernization, compromise, which plays a more and more important role in our social life, has increasingly be- come a major choice to resolve social conflicts： the probability of compromise used by people are getting grea- ter; as a solution to alleviate social contradictions, compromise becomes a kind of institutional arrangement, and to be guaranteed by relevant laws and regulations. From the perspective of historical progress, the fact that compromise is gradually becoming a kind of institutional arrangement for solving social contradictions is decided by the modernization and the progress of human civilization, which is historically inevitable. Firstly, the development of modern productive forces has laid the necessary material foundation for compromise. Sec- ondly, the increasing interdependence between various social groups gives rise to the growing necessity of com- promise. Thirdly, the improvement of rationality among the general public offers compromise with a broad range of cognitive basis. Fourthly, the emergence of the modem system provides the necessary tools and effec- tive protection for the compromise. Compromise, especially institutional compromise, has an indispensable function in maintaining and promoting the modem society, compromise helps to reduce the possibility of in- creasing social conflict, thus effectively avoiding some social risks; compromise contributes to the formation of effective social vitality and social creativity; compromise is helpful to the continuous innovation and develop- ment of the modem social system; compromise helps to promote the smooth transition of a society. Therefore, we should make full use of the way of compromise, so as to maximize its positive function in coping with social contradictions.
