《申报·本埠增刊》自1924年2月8日出刊,至1937年8月14日停刊,是上海《申报》针对上海市民为读者对象的一份地方商业广告专刊,除1932年"一二八"期间停刊61天外,每天随母报发行。^([1])这份增刊存世时间长,深受市民欢迎,不仅增加了《申报》收入,扩大了《申报》发行,对报社价值巨大,而且成功塑造了上海市民关于城市生活的想象,反映、引领和服务于上海的市民文化生活,成为研究和洞悉民国期间上海城市市民生活构建的样本。
Shun Pao Local Supplement started publication on February 8, 1924 and stopped on August 15, 1937. It is a commercial advertising special issue of Shun Pao serving the citizens of Shanghai. Shun Pao Local Supplement were very popular among the citizens in Shanghai during that time. It had been in service for fourteen years except that it suspended for sixty-one days because of January 28 Incident. Shun Pao Local Supplement not only directly increased the advertising revenue, but also expanded the newspaper circulation and influence. It successfully constructed the outline of urban life style for Shanghai citizens. It also reflected, led and served the cultural life of Shanghai citizens. Acctually Shun Pao Local Supplement has become a research sample about civil culture of Shanghai during the Republic of China.
