摘要
引述句不仅是构成学术语篇文体的重要元素,而且是作者确立学术身份的一种重要语言资源。本文基于英语本族语学者、中国学者及中国英语专业硕士研究生的学术英语语料,聚焦引述句主语,发现他们在引述句主语的使用方面有其各自的特点和规律,并由此构建了反映不同母语文化、不同群体文化的学术身份。本文为学术语篇的身份呈现特征找出了新的语言证据。
The article presents a study of subject features of reporting clauses in academic writings.It starts with an assumption that the use of reporting clauses is not only an important element of academic writings but also a kind of linguistic resource for the construction of author identity.Three corpora,i.e.published English articles written by native English scholars,published English articles by native Chinese scholars,and MA English theses by Chinese postgraduates,are used in the research.The result shows that each of the three groups demonstrates their own unique features in the use of subjects of reporting clauses and thus constructs different types of author identity,which reflects cultural differences.The study has discovered new evidence for the linguistic construction of identity in academic writings and opened a new perspective of exploration into the study of intercultural rhetoric.
