A Brief Discussion on MENG Jiao's Mourning Poetry

孟郊现存46首五古哀悼诗,在述哀之余还饱含身世之感,充满怀才不遇之悲、穷愁困苦之叹、恨世不公之怨、愤世嫉俗之恨。在艺术上有两大特点:一是在诗中直接渲泄痛不可遏的哀情;二是多运用叠词和对比、比喻的修辞方法表达哀情。其中以悼子诗《杏殇》为杰出代表。
