Overseas Chinese Investment and the Development of Hometown of Overseas Chinese in Guangxi during the 30-40's 20th Century

新桂系统治之初,广西地方政府通过派员前往海外宣传,热情接待回国考察实业的华侨等举措,积极吸引海外华侨回到广西投资兴业。至20世纪30-40年代海外华侨在广西从事矿业与农垦等方面的投资之时,广西地方政府采用共同合资、向侨商提供贷款与保护等诸多措施为侨商提供便利。海外侨资的引入不仅在一定程度上推动了广西工农业生产的发展,而且也密切了华侨与祖国之间的联系。二者在共同促进广西侨乡新面貌的同时,也带来了广西侨乡民众思想观念上的变化。

At the beginning of New Guangxi clique,the local government attracted overseas Chinese back to Guangxi to invest by sent officials to the overseas and hospitality reception returning overseas Chinese. When the overseas Chinese invested in Guangxi mining and reclamation during the 30-40＇s 20 th century,the Guangxi local government adopted joint venture,or provided protection and other loans to facilitate these overseas Chinese. The introduction of overseas Chinese investment not only promoted the development of industrial and agricultural production in Guangxi to a certain extent,but also tied closely between the overseas Chinese and their motherland. A t the same time a new face of hometown of overseas Chinese appeared,and also brought changes on the hometown people‘ideas in Guangxi.
