The Admirable Charming Landscape of Jinan

济南山水风光旖旎、别具千秋是一个公认的事实,千百年来一直如此。元代时候,一位和济南有着深刻渊源的山西诗人元好问写了一句诗一直流传到今天：羡煞济南山水好,不辞长做济南人。同是在元代,因著述《齐乘》而名垂青史的于钦,在《江波楼记略》中也说了一句对济南影响深远的话：＂济南山水甲齐鲁,泉甲天下＂。

Jinan is widely acknowledged to have enchanting scenery with distinctive features throughout its history.In the Yuan Dynasty,Yuan Haowen,a poet from Shanxi province who established a deep connection with Jinan,had left a poem satying that 'Admiring at the magnificent landscapes,I always yearn for residing in Jinan.' Yu Qin,renowned for his famous geography book Qi Cheng in the Yuan Dynasty,said in 'The Summary of Jiangbo Building' that the splendid landscape of Jinan was the best in both Shandong province and in the country,exerting far-reaching influence on the city.Created by Zhao Mengfu,a painter and calligrapher during the Yuan Dynasty, 'Autumn Colors on the Que and Hua Mountains' is a unique painting,and depicts the scenery of the Que and Hua mountains in Ji'nan.Compared to the exquisite scenery in the regions south of the Yangtze River,mountains in Jinan look steady and tenacious,giving the city a tender landscape profile with a relatively immense ambiance.As Lao She had said,to have a full view of Jinan city from the Thousand Buddha Mountain,you'll see a breathtaking scenery that the city moat lined up with willows is moistened by the water mist swirling nearby,while the Que and Hua Mountains stand opposite each other on either side of the river.The landscape in southern China is as gentle and dynamic as the distinguished scholars form the same regions.In Jinan,the landscape of fine,delicate features gives a sense of vigor and vitality.Autumn and winter are the most beautiful seasons in Jinan,when the city is enthralling with the gifted natural beauty.
