Chinese Educational Review and Early Modern China's Librarianship

商务印书馆创办的《教育杂志》是我国近代教育史上最具影响力的一本杂志。《教育杂志》对我国早期图书馆事业十分重视,刊载了大量与图书馆有关的图片、报道及研究论文等,文章对这些内容进行了统计分析,认为《教育杂志》对我国早期图书馆事业的作用主要表现在:启蒙了国人的现代图书馆观念,促进庚子赔款用于图书馆事业,奠定我国儿童图书馆学研究基础,开启现代图书馆学本土化进程。

The Chinese Educational Review issued by The Commercial Press is one of the most impor- tant journals in modern China＇s education history. The Chinese Educational Review paid much attention to the development of librarianship, published a lot of photos, news, research as well as papers which related to the library. This article analyzed these contents and thought that The Chinese Educational Review made great contributions to the Modern China＇s librarianship in four aspects, which are enlightening the people＇s awareness of modern library, promoting the use of part of Boxer Indemnity for the China＇s librarianship, laying the foundations of children＇s library research and starting the process of library science indigenization
