Wang Zuoliang, a ＂Renaissance man,＂ enjoys a high reputation in aca- demic circles both at home and abroad. He is not only a famous educator, distinguished linguist, great writer and poet, authority on English literature research, comparative lit- erature research pioneer and excellent editor, but also an outstanding translator and translation theorist. As a translator, he has produced many translations of high-quality that are fresh in language and thought-provoking, exerting a far-reaching influence on the translation field. As a translation theorist, he put forward his ＂five-in-one＂ views on stylistic translation, cultural translation, poetry translation, unification of translation theory and practice as well as translation studies in the new era, which is rather unique, forward-looking and full of rich connotations, making great contributions to translation studies in China.
