高校英语教师英语体态语知识水平研究

A Study on College English Teachers' Knowledge Level on English Kinesics

随着全球化趋势的加强和英语教育的发展,高校英语教育的目标已经转变为培养学生的跨文化交际能力。然而,作为一种重要的交际形式,体态语却一直被忽视。因此,高校英语教师应该重视英语体态语知识的掌握。但是,目前的实际状况是当代的高校英语教师在专业学习的过程中一直都缺少这方面的培训。因此,我们应该先了解高校英语教师对英语体态语知识掌握的大致情况。本文作者利用测试和问卷调查的形式,对66名高校英语教师进行了一项调查来测试其该方面的知识水平、学习动机以及输入和习得渠道,并用数据分析软件Excel 97-2003和SPSS 20.0来分析得到的数据。以这些数据为基础,得出了以下三条结论:(1)受试者的分数较低,在一定程度上说明高校英语教师不具备足够的英语体态语知识;(2)受试者对于学习英语体态语知识动机不足;(3)受试者认为一些英语体态语知识的输入和习得渠道比另外一些更有效。基于以上发现,作者提出了一些能够提高高校英语教师英语体态语知识的建议。

With the trend of globalization and the development of English education, college English education has altered its goal to cultivating students＇intercultural communicative competence. However, as an important form of communication, kinesics is often ignored. Thus, college English teachers should attach importance to the knowledge on English kinesics. But the current situation is that contemporary college English teachers lack the training in this respect in the process of major study. Therefore, we should first get a general picture of college English teachers＇knowledge level on English kinesics. A survey is done to investigate their knowledge, learning motivation as well as input and acquisition channels on English kinesics by means of test and questionnaire, and the statistic tools of Excel 97 - 2003 and SPSS 20.0 are used to analyze the data collected. The participants are 56 college English teachers. On the basis of the data, three conclusions are reached ： （ 1 ） The low average score the participants have got,to some degree, indicates that college English teachers do not have adequate knowledge on English kinesics; （2） The participant＇s are not motivated to acquire the knowledge on English kinesics; （3） The participants agree that some input and acquisition channels are more effective than others. Based on the findings, some suggestions are put forward to enhance college English teachers＇knowledge on English kinesics.
