There is a close relationship between historical materialism and the theory and praxis of the Chinese path. Only if we can grasp this relationship,we can greatly promote the study of the theory of the Marxism,and we can put the most extensive problems and experience in China deeply into our academic field as a whole. The path of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the important achievement and innovation of historical materialism in contemporary China,and the contemporary Chinese Marxism theory research can never totally put aside the fundamental standpoint of the Chinese path. The basic message which the historical materialism gives us is: the humanities and social science speaking Chinese language will surely turn into such an extremely broad field of study,i.e. to explore the Chinese problems and grasp the social reality of China.
