“众擎易举、各出所藏”:近代上海合众图书馆的合众机制探析

近代上海私立合众图书馆为叶揆初、张元济和顾廷龙合作组建,自1939年创办至1953年转交政府,短短十四年间已取得非常成就,在业内及公众间享有盛誉。其内在原因,在于图书馆自创办之初就形成良好之"合众"机制。这一机制不仅存在于发起时"众擎易举、各出所藏"的命名之义,更在于创设人以志向、专业与交谊为基础的合众基础,将图书馆专业管理、特色收藏与创设人影响力相结合的制度基础。虽为私立图书馆,却在创办及发展的过程中聚合众力,赢得学界及公众信任,担当起公共图书馆的社会角色。

Shanghai Heshong library was established by Kui --chu Ye, Yuan--ji Zhang and Ting--long Gu in modern China. From 1939 to 1953, the library has made great achievements and become well known in the circle of library and in public. Based on our research, we found that the collaborative mechanism already existed at the beginning, which included the founder＇s ambition, profession and friendship. As a private library, Shanghai Hezhong library took on the role as a public library.
