Tucked away in the southwestern suburb of Shanghai,Qibao Ancient Water Town has an authentic＂old China＂feel.Constructed about1,000 years ago in the Northern Song Dynasty（960-1127）,the town occupies about 2 square km and still features historical architecture from the later Ming（1368-1644）and Qing（1644-1911） dynasties. The attractive stone bridges, picturesque canals and small bustling alleyways alive with traditional snack food sellers make Qibao a small oasis of history in the midst of the sprawling modernity of urban Shanghai.
