摘要
梳理了双关语的结构特征、交际效果及翻译模型,根据文本类型及双关结构与交际效果的对应关系,改编了赖斯的翻译批评框架。从语音、词汇、语义、交际效果维度,采用对比分析法,对朱生豪及另三位译者的《哈姆雷特》汉译本中的双关语进行文本分析和翻译策略评估。双关语翻译策略的适切性与原文的双关结构特征及其交际意图与功能密切相关。朱译采用音韵补偿、润饰辞藻、纯洁译本、省略译法等再现了双关语作为表情文本的审美价值及其作为感染文本的交际效果。
Based on the study of the interplay between the structure and communication effects of wordplays in English,the present study adapts Reiss＇ s text typology translation criticism model by focusing on phonology,lexicon,semantics and communication effects. Within the adapted criticism framework,a comparative translation-oriented text analysis and translation strategy criticism of wordplays in the four Chinese versions of Hamletis conducted. It is found that the appropriateness and applicability of translation strategies are closely related to the structural characteristics and the communication intentions and functions of wordplays in the source text. In his translation,Zhu Shenghao adopts rhyme compensation,lexical refinement,innocent language and omission to reproduce the aesthetic values of wordplays as expressive texts and realize their communication effects as operative texts.
