Hegel's theory of judgment in his speculative logic

This paper argues that in order to properly understand Hegel＇s theory of judgment, we must put it under his concep- tion of a speculative logic. While the traditional doctrine represented by Aristotle and Kant advocates that the structure of judg- ment is a combination of the subject and the predicate through the copula ＂is＂, Hegel proposes that this structure is a conceptu- al development from the subject to the predicate, and what ＂is＂ characterizes is the existential feature of the concept of ＂becom- ing＂. Hegel＇s discussion of judgment serves the goal of his speculative logic, i. e. , demonstrating a self - determining genera- tive mechanism.
