An Interpretation on New Theory of “Great Tradition and Little Tradition”

文章从学术史视野,追溯文化大小传统理论在美国的产生情况,从理论旅行的视角反思其传播中国的接受过程,兼及国内学者对雷德菲尔德理论顺着说和逆着说的两种截然不同做法,着重阐发本土学者对此一对术语的批判和颠覆性再造,在新旧对照中揭示大小传统新理论建构的思想意义和学术引导作用。

This article traces back the rising of the cultural great tradition and little tradition theory in the USA from the perspective of academic history,and reflects China＇s process of accepting it from the perspective of theoretic travel.In addition,based on pro-Redfield theory and con-Redfield theory of domestic scholars,it focuses on local scholars＇ criticism and subversive re-construction of the two terms,and reveals ideological significance and academic guiding function of constructing new theory of great tradition and little tradition by comparing the old and the new.
