The distinguishing feature of the novel White Tiger Village is the socialized and individualized narration of historical changes in rural areas. On the one hand,it presents the historical change of White Tiger Village,a Tujia mountain village,from poverty and backwardness to wealth and civilization step by step led by the typical image of Charisma,Yao Mei-zi,under the conflicts between traditional concept and modern consciousness, rural and urban civilization, as well as agrarian and commercial culture,constructing a grand narrative of new countryside construction. And on the other hand,it focuses on the issues of youth drain,government construction and development pattern occurred in the context of urbanization in ethnic rural areas from individualized and artistic perspectives,providing historical reflection and realistic enlightenment in the process of rural transformation in regions inhabited by ethnic groups.
