According to the summarization of the main type and characteristic of congestion problem of urban traffic in Datong City,the article analyzes the main causes of traffic congestion in the urban roads of Datong City, and puts forward the targeted improvement countermeasures for the perfection of road network structure, improvement of road function positioning, optimization of intersection reconstruction, strengthening of traffic management and implementation of bus transit priority.
