The main types of old bridges in Nantong City are the arch bridges and the simple-supported plate girder bridges. The bridge disease occurs more at the upper of structure. And the overload and operation with disease of old bridges are fairly common. The reinforcement and reconstruction of old bridges are more urgent. The article introduces the common reconstruction measures for the superstructures of simple-supported girder bridge and arch bridge.
