中国传统音乐文化西译简史及其影响因素

Translation and the Dissemination of Traditional Chinese Musical Culture in the West

中国传统音乐文化如何藉由翻译西传是学界鲜有问津的问题。本文从中国音乐典籍、儒经乐论的西传、音乐民族志以及中国音乐学术论文的国际交流中追寻翻译的踪迹,并由此梳理国乐对外译介史,指出译者的认知水平、身份与动机、所处的社会背景对中国传统音乐译介的影响,并从中得到在当前社会背景下中国音乐文化对外传播应依靠"以史为鉴,主动译介"的启示。

Seldom has the role of translation been studied in the dissemination of traditional Chinese musical culture. Through a combined perspective of translation studies and ethnomusicology,this paper seeks to identify the invisible translation process during the dissemination of Chinese traditional music. Piecing together pictures of the history throws light on in what way the cognition,motivation,social identity and social background of the translators interact with their translation. It is proposed that strategies of activating translation on our own initiative under the background of enhanced traditional culture will facilitate the output of traditional Chinese musical culture worldwide in the contemporary age.
