A Brief Discussion on Debt Repayment Methods in the Loan Contracts of Xiyu (the Western Regions)

目前保存下来的西域借贷契约中的债务偿还方式主要有每月付息随时还本、本息随时偿还、等额本息分期偿还、本息到期偿还四种,不同的偿还方式受到借贷物如钱币、斛斗、织物等的影响。同时,不同的偿还方式对债权人和债务人的权利义务的约定有所不同,从而在不同程度上对双方的利益带来影响。

There are four different debt repayment methods in the loan contracts of the Western Regions,every method is influenced by lending goods,such as money,corn,fabric and so on. At the same time,different repayment method has different convention to creditor and debtor,which influences the benefit of creditor and debtor in varying degrees.
