To Interpret the Variation and Different Cultures of New York Rap Performance

纽约黑人说唱是20世纪60年代初见于纽约黑人贫民区的一种城市民间音乐体裁,80年代中叶演化为一种新生形式的新派说唱,并受到西方学者的诸多批判。文章以田野工作所获取的资料为基础,对纽约黑人说唱的变迁进行了追溯,并对老派、新派纽约说唱乐演的程式化符号丛进行了衍变考察与比较,认为美国当代新派乐演被市场化操纵后与老派说唱乐演特质文化的黑人身份认同已大相径庭。

The paper studied the Old School and New School Rap Performance by applying the theory of performing ethnography and musical iconology,gave comparative study and cultural interpretation on the stylized and emergent elements during transition,revealed the homology relationship between the chaotic state of New School Rap' symbol plexus and contradiction of contemporary African American' s double identity.
