This article introduces the influence of lightning on overhead lines and discusses all kinds of lightning protection methods and preventive measures. It also expounds the working principle and scope of application of multi- needle lightning arrester and Zinc Oxide lightning arrester, conducts in-depth analysis of other lightning prevention methods in a bid to improve the lightning prevention level of overhead power line and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system.
