声调语言是占世界半壁江山的一种语言,普通语言学应当重视反映其特征和研究成果,声调有语义区别、音乐美感、减短音段等功用。作者介绍了从教学实践、学术研究中总结出来的一些辨识、描写声调的方法。

Tonal language is a language for half of the country, general linguistics should pay more attention to reflect the characteristics and research results, tone has a semantic difference, music aesthetics, short segmental function. The author introduces some methods of identifying and describing the tones which are summed up from the teaching practice and academic research.
