Introduction to Gender Discrimination Phenomena and the Causes in English and Chinese Language

语言在人类社会进程中扮演着十分重要的角色,它像一面镜子一样真实而生动地反映了社会思想和文化。以英汉两种语言为例,从构词和句法两个层面初步探讨了两种语言中常见的性别歧视现象,并浅析其产生的历史和文化根源。

Language has a very important role in the human society and our life, for it reflects the social thought and culture vividly just like a mirror. This paper discusses sexism phenomenon in Chinese and English from two aspects： word formation and syntax,meanwhile reveals its historical and cultural roots.
