试论名字解诂之原则及方向

On Principle and Direction in the Interpretation of the Names of Ancients

名字解诂应遵守一定的原则。名与字之间的语义关联是名字解诂的前提,没有语义联系的材料不能强作解释;名字解诂应求平实,避迂曲,注重材料和平行证据;出土文献可以给名字解诂提供新材料、新证据和新思路,名字解诂应充分重视出土文献与古文字的作用。

This paper will discuss the principle and direction of the interpretation of the names of the ancientswith case studies. I will propose the foundation of the interpretation is the sematic link between the original name and the courteous name,and we cannot get an interpretation of the names without the semantic link. The interpretation of names should be simple and direct,with a solid foundation. We should pay more attention to the excavated documents,because they can provide new materials,new evidence and new thinking for our interpretation of the names of ancients.
