Loneliness of Life,Uselessness of Love:An Analysis of Novels by Carson McCullers

孤独与爱,表面上看起来是无法融合的矛盾体,但在美国当代著名女作家卡森·麦卡勒斯的世界里,孤独的人生、疏离的情愫,却始终纠合着爱的体会。卡森信奉爱是所有好作品的发生器,在她的作品中,我们随处可以看到爱的流动。但这种爱的投射却是如此脆弱,它映射出的是深及骨髓的孤独。结合作者生平经历,论文分析了卡森试图用一种诡谲、神秘、荒诞的方式表达出一个与爱同样永恒的人类主题——孤独,并且用爱的无能来印证人生孤独的必然性。

Loneliness and love appear contradictorily on the surface. But in the world created by American contemporary famous writer Carson McCullers,loneliness and love can be considered as a whole. Carson believed in love,and she regarded love as the generator for all good works. In her novels,the flow of love can be seen everywhere. But this kind of love was so fragile. It reflected deep loneliness. Considering the author's life,this article holds that Carson tried to use a strange,mysterious and fantastic way to express the theme in her novel,which means life was lonely and love was useless.
