Under the era of new media ,we-media broke the traditional media information monopoly and makes normal people to be a actor of media .Some problems of information overload ,rampant rumors also continue to emerge ,the mass media even become the spread of rumors accomplice .T hrough analysis of the spread of rumors such as “Shanghai women escaped from Jiangxi” ,“the Olympic delegation was arrested w hen took off the plane” ,etc .,this paper clarifies the importance of investigation and verification in the new media era .The mass media should carefully reprint or quote the information sources of the network , insist on the investigation and verification of the rerelease of the work methods to ensure the authenticity of information ,at the same time ,lay the “rumor” war ,and continuously enhance the credibility and influence .
