“Chinese American female writer” is a title often used to refer to Amy Tan,which reveals her identity awareness as a Chinese,a woman and a writer. This identity awareness is well embodied in her essay collection A Book of Musings,and is further confirmed in her fictional works. In her writing career, Amy Tan takes such questions as “Who am I？ What can I write？ What should I write for？” into consideration？ and makes her works close to such universal themes as love and hope in human world. For this,she has become a significant role in Chinese American Literature.
