《登金陵凤凰台》英译本的五象美比较

A Comparative Study of Five Beauties in the English Translations of Ascending the Phoenix Terrace of Jinling City

辜正坤先生提出的五象美理论为诗歌鉴赏与比较提供了较为完整的理论体系。以李白《登金陵凤凰台》为例,从视象美、音象美、义象美、事象美和味象美的角度,对孙大雨和庞德的英译进行全面比较。研究发现,五象美理论不仅有助于我们获得对原文的美学感知,而且有助于对译文质量做出科学而全面的判断,它为古诗英译的比较与鉴赏提供了美学的体系性与科学的操作性。

The theory of five beauties put forward by GU Zhengkun has offered a comprehensive theoretic system to appreciate and compare poems. This paper comparatively analyzes the two translations of Ascending the Phoenix Terrace of Jinling City from the perspective of five beauties,which are vision beauty,sound beauty,quotation beauty,taste beauty and implication beauty. The research finds that the theory of five beauties is not only helpful for us to gain the aesthetic perception of the original poem but also helpful for us to judge its translations scientifically and comprehensively. It offers aesthetic system and scientific operation to compare and appreciate English translations of Chinese classic poems.
