With the development of modern society and economy,the platforms that people express their ideas are increasing. With the rapid development of mass media,a special way of express their thinking- public speech,in political or academic circle,this way is becoming more and more popular in people＇s life. Diffident speeches activities can be seen everywhere. This paper analyzes speech context and cohesion from the perspective of functional grammar. Functional grammar as a new perspective plays a very important roles in the context and cohesion of Speech Words.
