Wilmoth A.Farmer was an American woman missionary living in China in the late Qing Dynasty, who lived in Guangxi for ten years. She became one of the many messengers between modern Chinese and Western cultural exchanges because of her understanding of Guangxi. The written words in her letters and diaries reflect the social and historical features of Guangxi in modern times, which has a certain reference value for the study of modern Chinese women, the history of Christianity in China and the research on the local history of Guangxi.
