新都县出土汉“楚子问鼎”画像砖考论

A Textual Research on the Portrait Brick Named “King Zhuang of Chu Asking About the Weight of the Nine Tripod Cauldron” Excavated from Han Tomb in Xindu County

学界对成都市新都县文管所所藏之"楚子问鼎"画像砖内容存在争议,画像砖的人物服饰、鼎身纹饰和画面涂朱三个因素表现出其内容似非"楚子问鼎"的历史故事,而可能与仙境题材相关。我们在研究画像砖时,应尽可能地将画像砖位置还原到墓室之中去探求其整体意义,以便于释读内容时能更准确地把握其内涵意义。

It has been in dispute whether the portrait brick collected by Xindu county historic relics adminis- tration describes the historical story of ＂King Zhuang of Chu asking about the weight of the Nine Tripod Cauldron. ＂ It is highly likely not!, due to the following three factors ： the dresses and adornments of the char- acters; the pattern and ornamentation of the Tripod Cauldron and the pigment Of the painting. These factors contribute to the possibility that the brick depicts a wonderland themed story. The brick should be put back to where it was originally located in the tomb to allow for more integrated and comprehensive understanding of the content illustrated on the brick.
