摘要
科学基金制度是世界上许多国家支持基础研究的重要途径，也取得了良好的效果，比如美国国家科学基金会、德国研究理事会等。中国科学基金制度的探索最早可追溯到1981年。1986年2月14日，国务院批准设立国家自然科学基金委员会，具有中国特色的科学基金制正式建立。
Science foundation is an important way adopted by many countries to support fundamental research. Many of such foundations have achieved great results, such as the NSF of America and German Research Foundation. China＇s exploration in science foundation system dates back to 1981. On February 14, 1986, under the approval of the State Council, National Natural Science Foundation of China （hereafter referred to as simply NSFC） was founded.
