论以英语辩论为载体的高校创新型国际化人才培养

English Debate Serving as a Carrier in Cultivating International Talents in Colleges and Universities

21世纪是人才竞争的世纪。国际化人才在当今中国乃至世界范围都有越来越大的需求。毋庸置疑,国际化人才是中国在未来世界的政治、经济、文化等各个领域的竞争中立于不败之地的基础。如何从英语教育着手培养优质学生成为具有创新意识的国际化人才,值得我们认真思考。根据多年的实践经验可知,英语辩论是对大学英语教学的颠覆性改革,是目前为止在高校实现与国际化人才培养目标对接的最佳选择。主要原因在于它不仅能让学生迅速扩大知识面,促进其不断思考问题,而且能全方位地帮助学生提高英语、沟通、竞争、合作、创新等技能以及团队合作精神、时间管理能力等综合素质,最大限度地让精英学生与国际接轨,成为真正的国际化人才。

The main feature of the 21 st century is the competition for talents. There is greater demand than ever for innovative international talents in China, and even in the world today. Undoubtedly, international talents will help China stay competitive in politics, economics and culture, etc. in the future world. It is high time that we thought about how to nurture the top students in terms of English teaching and forge them into international talents with a sense of innovation. Based on many years＇ practice and experience, the author proposes the disruptive reform in College English teaching and concludes that English debate course is the best choice to achieve the goal of cultivating innovative international talents. The main reason for this is that English debate course will not only broaden students＇ horizon and keep them thinking, but also help them improve their overall comprehensive skills such as English, communication, competition, cooperation, innovation,teamwork, time management, and so on, which allows the outstanding students to exert themselves on the international stage and become innovative international talents in the real sense.
