Diversified Ecological Perspectives——Book Review on Global Imagination of Ecological Communities:Western and Chinese Ecocritical Practice

2013年江苏大学出版社出版了纽约市立大学布鲁克林学院教授张嘉如女士的《全球环境想象:中西生态批评实践》。该书综述了西方生态批评研究,引入了乌苏拉·海瑟(Ursual Heise)的生态世界主义的概念,进而结合世界文学的概念,提出环境世界文学的主题,为整本书的研究确定了方向。该书进而从不同的视角,诸如动物批评研究、生态女性主义、禅宗生态批评等视角解析各种生态危机,试图将具有生态内涵的佛教思想引入多元的生态批评,以期为目前的生态危机给出题解。该书视角多元,观点新颖,是生态研究领域的新著,值得学界关注,其观点也为我国的生态文明建设提供了新的思路。

Global Imagination of Ecological Communities： Western and Chinese Ecocritical Practice,published by Jiangsu University Press in 2013,was written by Professor Zhang Jiaru of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York（ CUNY）. The book offers a comprehensive review over western ecocriticism and introduces the concept of ＂ecological cosmopolitanism＂which,combined with the idea of world literature,composes the theme of the book-ecological world literature. Then the book makes an analysis of ecological crises from a variety of perspectives,including zoocriticism,eco-feminism,and zen-ecocriticism,with a view to introducing ecology-concerned Buddhist ideas into the polysystem of ecocriticism and offering suggestions to the current ecological crises.Characterized with diversified perspectives and innovative ideas,the newly published book in the field of ecological study is worth the attention of academia and can provide some new ideas to China＇s eco-civilization construction.
