In actual projects,often constrained by tight budgets and strict regulations and driven by efficiency and profit,residential design tends to address itself to standard unit and form.Under such circumstances,are there still possibilities of improving living quality？ This paper introduces several design strategies and approaches by Atelier Archmixing derived from the unit and spatial design of their two recent residential projects.It points out that,for the design of residential space is an integrated system that combines unit,building and district planning,attention to overall correlation between unit type and space can be an effective approach to the improvement of living quality.
