The Impact of Self Gains and Losses on Empathic Responses to Friends' Gains and Losses

在金钱博弈任务中让被试暗中操控对朋友赢或输的赏罚金额。结果发现,当被试与朋友一起参与博弈时,较之于仅仅观看朋友博弈,对其赌赢的奖赏金额有了明显的降低,而对其赌输的惩罚金额没有受到显著影响。而且,自己输要比自身赢的前提下对朋友赌赢的奖赏更低,但对朋友赌输的惩罚金额则不受自身得失的影响。这说明,关注自身的得失会减弱对朋友获益的共情水平,而不会影响对其损失的共情程度。

The present study carriedout experiment with a gamble task to investigate the impact of self gains and losses on empathic responses to friends’ gains and losses. The results showed that after the participants played the game with their friends,they rewarded less money to their friends compared with when watching their friends playing the game,but the punishment to their friends’ losses were unaffected. Morever,after the participants’ own failure,they gave less money when their friends won in the game compared with the reward they gave themselves. However,the penalty to the failure of friends wasn’t affected by the participants’ gains and losses. The results indicated that focusing on one’s own gains and losses would weaken the empathic response toward friends,but the weakening effect was only found in the response to the gains of friends,not their losses.
