摘要
盛宣怀凭借自身的经济实力和社会地位,不遗余力地发展新式教育,多有创开之举,他是我国近代技术实业教育的重要兴办者,近代高等教育的奠基者,是施行中国近代三级学制的先驱,为我国近代学制的推行,科举制度的废除发挥了促进作用,是我国近代教育早期发展史上一位富有开拓创新精神、做出过重要贡献的教育实践家。
Sheng Xuanhuai makes a full use of his economic resources and social stature to make contributions to educational development as contemporary pragmatic educator, founder of higher education and advocator for tertiary education. His educational thoughts help with abolition of the imperial examination.
