“丁氏教育模式”是丁祖诒先生开创的一种全新的教育教学及管理模式。它在推动西译乃至整个民办高校的规范运行、健康发展中发挥了重要的引领作用。新的历史条件下，民办高校的转型发展，在一定意义上可以说是对“复合实用型人才培养模式”的继承与发展，是“丁氏教育模式”新的实践蕴含与时代教育发展要求之间的契合。
