Strategies to Promote the Transformation and to Create an A-class University

“十三五”期间，我国高等教育改革和发展将进入一个全新的阶段，普通高校面临着“向应用型转变”、创建“双一流”等战略选择，民办高校作为我国高等学校的重要组成部分，同样面临着转型发展和创建一流民办大学的重大任务。民办高校只有坚持以推进转型发展为路径，以深化教育教学改革为重点，坚持走内涵发展、特色发展和创新发展，才能实现“一流民办大学”建设目标。面对“转型发展”和“双一流”创建的战略目标，西安翻译学院更应以积极的态度，主动出击，迎接挑战，在深刻总结长期以来办学经验的基础上，不断深化教育、教学和管理等方面的改革，加强学科专业建设和人才培养质量建设，提升办学综合实力和竞争力，努力创建一流民办大学，创建人民满意的民办大学。

The reform and development of China＇ s higher education has stepped into a brand-new phase during the 13th-five-year planning and the general colleges and universities of higher education has now faced the strategic option of ＂application-oriented transformation＂ and ＂the Creation of Double First-Class＂. As an important component of institutions of higher education in China, private universities have also faced such a problem. Only when private universities stick to the path to transformation, deepen their educational and peda- gogical reform, insist on connotational and innovative development can they realize their lofty aim of being the first-class universities. Xi＇an Fanyi University ought to take the initiative to rise to the challenge and continu- ously deepen its reform in educational programs, pedagogy and government in light of its long-established experi- ence in running the university. The university should also strengthen its disciplines qualifications of talented per- sonnel, enhance its overall strength and competitiveness in university management and strive to make it a first- class and satisfactory private university.
