Objective:To explore the clinical effect of Wentongsan fire therapy in the treatment of cervical spondylosis. Methods:Selected 139 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy treated in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2015 and randomly divided them into intervention group with num-ber of 69 and control group with number of 70. The intervention group was treated with Chinese traditional fire treatment on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine treatment according to syndrome differentia-tion. The quality of symptoms, quality of sleep, lengths of hospital stay and hospitalization costs were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results:After intervention, the symptom scores of both groups increased, however the increase of intervention group was significantly higher than that of control group(P 〈 0. 05). The scores of sleep quality of both groups decreased, however the decrease of intervention group was significantly. hospitalization time of the intervention group was significantly shorter than that of the control group(P 〈 0. 05). The average daily hospitalization cost was no significantly different(P ﹥ 0. 05). The total hospitalization cost was lower than that of the control group(P 〈 0. 05). Conclusion:Wentongsan fire thera-py can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, improve the quality of sleep and shorten the course of the disease as well as reduce the cost of hospitalization.
