作为东北流亡作家群的重要一员,抗战期间,端木蕻良两次驻足重庆,留下了鲜明的文学印迹。作家以自身对重庆地貌气候的直接感知,对战时重庆地理空间、地域生活、地理气质的体认感悟以及对重庆地域语言的敏感,为世人构建了一个富有特点的外来者(流亡作家)眼中的重庆(陪都)形象。重庆负载陪都的符码意义后,陪都这个特定的自然、文化时空域,尤其是域内的人生百态是端木蕻良小说关注的重心。陪都的堕落人生、丑陋人性是作家揭批的重点。而在重庆期间,端木蕻良对中国现代文学的主要贡献是他塑造了一批陪都"多余人"形象。端木蕻良以文学家的良心为抗战做出了自己的贡献。

During the Anti-Japanese War, as an important member of the Groups Northeast Exiled Writers, Duanmu Hongliang stopped in Chongqing twice, and left a distinctive literary imprinting. Through direct perception of Chongqing landform climate, writer builded a rich characteristics of outsiders （author in exile） in the eyes of chongqing （a second capital） image for the world, with geographic space, regional life, awareness of geographic temperament, and sensitivity to Chongqing regional language in the Wartime-Chongqing. After loading code meaning of a second capital for Chongqing, Duanmu Hongliang＇ s novel focused on Chongqing＇ s life-type of this particular natural and cultural airspace. Author focused on revealing the downfall of the life, ugly human nature of the capital. And in Chongqing, The main contribution which Duanmu I-Iongliang＇ s Novel to modern Chinese literature lied in a batch of ＂superfluous man＂ image that created by writer. Duanmu Hongliang created a batch of ＂superfluous man＂ image of the capital which was the main contribution that his novel to modern Chinese literature. Duanmu Hongliang made its own contribution for the Anti-Japanese War in writ- er＇ s conscience.
